Created in collaboration with a group of nationally acclaimed artists Elbow Room is an insightful dance theatre work. Its continued development has been made possible by Arts QLD, Brisbane Powerhouse and Ausdance QLD.
It is an intimate story, woven together by the memory of what has past or fallen, punctuated with provocative and insightful snapshots of the spaces that grow between us.
This compelling dance work incorporates original design, a distinctive soundtrack and evocative video imagery. With warmth and humour, dislocation and bitterness, Elbow Room is ultimately exploring the silences that grow between us – what has fallen and been lost along the way.

“Wilson’s movement and staging poignantly highlights the disintegration of the ‘oneness’ as individual needs compete and the ‘play’ in powerplay gives way to a combative dynamic. Elbow Room’s potent visual metaphors register as wry, funny and sad. We’re left contemplating the breaches that can be bridged, and those that can’t – or moreover, won’t – be.”
Olivia Stewart, Brisbane Courier Mail
“The work was a fabulously entertaining glimpse into the intimacy of a past and present relationship, cleverly constructed and impeccably performed.”
